You are bidding on my Washburn "Idol" series WI64DL guitar. The same guitar that
captured a Guitar Player Editor's Pick Award a few years back. Mine is used, but
in absolutely excellent condition. Looks and plays like new. No dings,
scratches, belt buckle wear, etc.
This is a Korean made guitar with a build quality that rivals the best of the
United States. Mahogany body and set neck; quilted maple top with a deep, rich, transparent
wine red finish; gold hardware; rosewood fret board; properly dressed frets; and
to top it off - trick features like Grover tuners, innovative Voice Contour
Control (VCC) electronics, and the Buzz Feiten Tuning System.
The neck is just about perfect for this style of guitar. A little chunky, but
not too much. The pickups are Washburn's own design, which definitely produce the kind of tone you want, and expect, from a
pair of classic humbuckers. The unique VCC control lets you move between single and double coil sounds
so you can get a very wide range of tones from this guitar.
I can't say enough about the Buzz Fieten Tuning System. It's the
reason I bought this guitar in the first place. It doesn't require any special
skill or knowledge - you tune it like any other guitar, but the intonation is
unlike anything else and the depth and harmonic resonance of this system is
remarkable. You have to hear it side-by-side with a standard tuned guitar to
appreciate it to it's fullest. Suffice to say it just sounds MORE "in tune" than
most other guitars.
I know when I'm shopping for guitars on eBay - it's all about the photos. I
tried to capture as much detail and true color as I could, but the finish and
shine on this guitar made that a difficult task. The finish is called "Transparent Red", but I want you
to be aware it is more of a wine-colored red than a fire engine red.
I do NOT have a hard case for this guitar and the
stand shown in the photo is NOT included. It has lived
a peaceful and pampered life in my home studio hanging on a wall.
I've since acquired a new Buzz Feiten equipped Washburn so I'm putting up this
WI64DL to the highest bidder in a no reserve auction with a modest starting bid.
I will include a gig bag and package it very carefully to
guarantee it will arrive in the condition stated and shown.
I will also ship it anywhere in the continental U.S. for a
flat rate of $25.
